How old do I need to be to get a tattoo or body piercing?
We will not tattoo anyone under the age of 18 under any circumstances.
Although the legal age of consent for a tattoo is 18 years there is currently no legally set age for body piercing. However, we will insist on a minimum age of 16 without parental consent. There is a minimum age of 18 for nipple and genital piercing.
ID IS ALWAYS REQUIRED.
I have a medical condition, will this affect me?
Certain medical conditions will affect whether or not you can be tattooed or pierced, If you are uncertain it is best to check with the tattoo studio and/or your own GP prior to making your booking.
We will not tattoo pregnant ladies
Do you do facial tattoos?
Other than cosmetic we would endeavour to discourage facial tattoos, this is not political or a personal preference. We feel that others' perceptions of people with facial tattoos could jeopardise their position with work, home and social life and we would not like to be responsible for such changes.
We also would not be party to any discriminative tattoos of any nature.
Will my tattoo change over time?
Any form of stretching may alter the shape of a tattoo i.e pregnancy or weight gain. The colour may also fade. There are remedies though; touch ups and re-colouring are options.
Does it hurt?
A tattoo could be described like scratching where you were sunburnt or a burning sensation at times, the feeling will usually accompanied by a vibration from the tattoo machine. A tattoo can be uncomfortable as they are being performed, but the pain is not intolerable.
No matter how you try to describe it, it is a unique feeling that can only be experienced by someone receiving a tattoo.
Can tattoos cover scars?
Depending on the condition of the scar, it is possible to cover-up a scar. It mainly depends on the age and flatness of the scar. If the skin surface is extremely raised or extremely thin skinned, that skin may not accept ink. |
