Barry

I have been tattooing since February 1981 but have been involved with art ever since I can remember. I was originally training as an airbrush artist before getting involved with tattooing. I am still airbrushing today but my passion is with skin art. During my career I have had the pleasure to meet and work with some of the great personalities within the tattooing industry such as Ian of Reading, Alex Wegner, Paul Booth, Mickey Sharpz, Lal Hardy and Paul Sayce just to name a few.

I have also won several national and international awards for tattooing in different styles of work such as portrait, realistic and celtic, both in colour and monochromatic.

I have worked for Tattoo Crazy for over 10 years apart from a short career break. I am an experienced body piercer and am friendly, outgoing and professional. I am capable of a wide variety of piercings from the basic to the extreme. I am always willing to learn and try something new.

I have been tattooing since May 2007 and have been a professional body piercer working at Tattoo Crazy since 2004. I am qualified in Graphic Design and have been involved in art since forever. When I am not tattooing I enjoy working in acrylics, oils, pencil and chalk.

I love doing custom designs, working with customers to produce the perfect artwork for their tattoo. I enjoy all styles and love the challenge of doing something different. I try to make the experience of being tattooed as enjoyable as possible and strive to do the perfect tattoo every time.

I started working at Tattoo Crazy in October 2007 and have done all my training here. Body piercing has been something I’ve always had an interest in and I have loved working in this busy studio as it has meant that I’ve had the opportunity to do a wide range of piercings from the standard to the rare. I enjoy my job very much and especially like trying new and more challenging piercings, septum piercings are one of my favourites. I am always happy to offer advice to customers unsure of placement, aftercare or what to expect from their piercing.

As well as piercing, I have learnt how to work within a sterile environment and since starting work at Tattoo Crazy I’ve earned a certificate in Decontamination and Sterilisation from The Institute For Public Health. This is something that I take very seriously, as cleanliness is of the utmost importance.

I have been piercing since September 2008. I enjoy the work I get to do. There aren’t many jobs where you can do the thing you love every day. I’ve always been interested in body piercing and tattoos, always coming to Tattoo Crazy and one day by chance while getting tattooed, the opportunity to work at the studio came. I work in both studios doing body piercing; I especially like to do surface piercing and dermal anchors(microdermals). I am able to do any piercing. I like to research the newest and latest techniques and am always keen to learn something new. I work to a very high standard and am always striving to perfect my skills and abilities.

I admire people like Steve Haworth from Arizona who developed the ‘metal Mohawk’, Elayne Angel who was one of the first female body piercers and Fakir Musafar, the founder of body piercing. These people have been an inspiration to me to strive to do the best that I can in this profession. I hope this tells you a little bit about myself and what I love to do.

Tattooing is an art form that interested me for many years before I started working at Tattoo Crazy. At school and college I studied art in various mediums but, it wasn’t until I had my first tattoo hand poked in Thailand that I realised that tattooing was the way in which I wanted to produce my art work.
One of the great things about working in our studio is the freedom to experiment with all styles and through this I’ve come to find that my two preferred styles are dot work and traditional Japanese.

That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy all styles. As long as I’m tattooing and producing work to the best of my ability I’m happy.

I have been tattooing since March 2010. My training has been by Barry K and I feel very honored knowing how difficult it is to get a foot into the industry. I first got interested in tattoos back in the mid 80's after seeing an American Tattoo magazine. I like all types of work but I am really interested in traditional tattoos and Japanese full body suits. I come from an engineering background and enjoy airbrushing and spray painting. I enjoy my work and working at Tattoo Crazy in a friendly clean environment with great work colleagues.
